marching to the beat

I didn't even realize until after I put this outfit together how military-inspired it is!  I'm wearing my new Forever 21 coat, which is perfect for this fall weather when it's not quite cold enough to put one of my winter coats.  Also, this is another post featuring my new combat boots- clearly I can't wear them enough :D

coat, star tank, black jeans, cardigan (underneath coat)- forever 21, boots- GoJane

In other news, I've picked my next knitting project!  I've decided to do this cute lace vest that has been in my queue on Ravelry forever, so I'm taking advantage of the birthday coupon that my local yarn store offers and going to pick out some yarn today.  I love starting a new knitting project- first the difficulty of picking a pattern that you want to devote your time and energy to, then the excitement of going to the yarn store and feeling all the different types of yarn until you find the one that's meant to be, the process of casting on, and finally the anticipation of wondering how your project will turn out.  I love the whole experience :)

One more day!! (I'm still that little girl who gets super excited about her birthday, hehe)

You go to Yale, huh? My sister went there! I love it there, but I'm a sucker for sunshine.

My mom is a knitting junkie too :) She has soooo much yarn. It's ridiculous. She STILL goes and buys new stuff for each project though, for the most part. I guess it's quite a ritual, hmm?

I love the fur trim on your parka! It looks really cute and cozy :)

Following you back!

@Sophi

Yep, haha, me too, but I thought a change in climate would be nice for a bit.

I try to use yarn I already have if I can, but I do have a little bit of a stash building up, hehe. Have you ever tried knitting?
