It took long enough to get here, but now that I'm at home relaxing I feel that summer is finally here!  It is so nice not to have to think about school or work or anything for a while. =)

You might recognize this outfit- this is what I was wearing when I took the pictures for this week's On Nnenna's Needles.  I love this as a warm-weather look- a chambray shirt tied at the waist worn with a cute floral miniskirt!  In this outfit I just want to jump and play and run around like a little kid!  Ohhh, how I love summer! :D

This season has been quite the busy one so far, with my graduation first and my sister's graduation from high school just yesterday!  For the past few days, I've been shopping for presents and writing thank you cards for all the lovely people in my life who helped me get to this point- I'm so grateful for all of them!

P.S.  I'm so excited for what's to come!  I've got some changes planned for this month, as well as my news to share with you- I can't wait! =)

Phew!  I can't believe I haven't posted in so long!  May was a particularly crazy month for me and one important thing after another came up, which unfortunately meant that I didn't have time to post.  However, over the past couple of weeks, several exciting things have happened to me and I cannot wait to share all of it with you guys!  That stuff will be revealed in the coming weeks, but I figured I would ease back into the blogging world with good old outfit post.

For a long time, I resisted the maxi trend.  I just assumed there was no way it would work on short people!  However, since starting this blog, I've learned that many styles are worth a try, even if you don't think they'll work for your body type!  So I bought this maxi skirt from Forever 21, but it took me another couple of months to figure out the right outfit and to work up the nerve to wear it out of my room!  That said, I really love this outfit!  I don't think I look short and stumpy like I feared I would and I think the accessories I chose make the skirt look young and fresh, as opposed to old and dowdy.  What do you guys think- did I pull off the maxi skirt?

Also, a couple more notes about this outfit. Say hello to my favorite spring purchase- this H&M parka!  I seriously cannot believe this is the first time it is making it into an outfit post because I've worn it practically nonstop since I bought it!  It is the perfect lightweight jacket and I'm so glad I purchased it in this dusty rose color (my friends had to convince me not to get the black one!) because it looks great with so many items.  Also, I realized I rarely take my outfit pictures with my purse because I use the same few purses and don't rotate often.  This is one of my trusty crossbody purses- perfect for running errands and the like.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Apologies for the longer absence than I intended last week.  My computer was infected, so over the weekend they took it away from me and reinstalled my operating system, which was very scary!  Now I have it back and I think it's good as new, but I still have to put all my stuff back on.

Anyways, on to the good stuff!  Today I plan to eat as much chocolate as possible without getting sick and hang out with my friends.  Nothing terribly exciting, but it still should be a good time :)  This is not a typical V Day outfit, but I think it works for the casual evening I have planned, while still giving a nod to the holiday!  Tell me, how do you guys plan to spend Valentine's Day?

I feel like all I'm missing from this pageboy outfit is a cap and a newspaper!  Nevertheless, I really like this look, especially the menswear inspired elements.  This is the last outfit that I took pictures of while I was at home- that's why I could get away with those bare legs!  Also, I'd been looking for a pair of shorts like these to wear in the winter and found these on sale in Charlotte Russe for $8.

Unfortunately, not a lot to say today because despite my best efforts, I'm feeling under the weather.  Still, I'm going to try to be productive and use the holiday to hunt for jobs and write cover letters.  Tell me about your weekend though, what did you do?

So everyday this week, I've consistently been taking pictures of my outfits, so that I could post them here.  I meant to post them individually, but I didn't get to it, so here they come all at once (I've got to get better at that)!  Sorry, I know that there are some lame mirror shots (I don't have anyone to take them for me!) and I'm still figuring out how to take the pictures by myself.  At least you'll be able to get a sense of what the outfits are like.

This week has been kind of up and down.  It started out fine, then from Tuesday onward, little sucky things kept happening every day.  By Thursday, I was feeling pretty bummed, so I decided to take an impromptu shopping trip (by which I mean, I had to reserve a car, because I don't have my car here at school).  This decision turned out to be absolutely fabulous for my mood and my closet, but absolutely terrible for my bank account.  Like, I spent way more than I should have! But what's the big deal- isn't that why I'm working anyway?? ;)  My new purchases will definitely be showing up in future posts, but I do this really weird thing that when I get new things, I don't always want to wear them right away.  I usually want to wait until I have the perfect outfit in mind, then bring it to life.  In fact, I like finding things in my closet that are 4 months old, but still new with tags!  Isn't that weird? Does anyone else do that?
